I honestly loved this island...it’s really something special. I went traveling all over the coast of Ecuador and this island is definably the best part of the Ecuadorian coastline....the beach is gorgeous...it’s huge and you always get nice friendly people who will show you around ...my favorite part was walking about 2 km north on the beach a place the locals call "la Punta" where you will find the waves meet with a quite river and in between all this some sort of ponds will form ...these lil ponds appear around sunset so its a really cool thing watching a nice sunset while laying on this pond...and the cool part is that at this place the beach meets with the jungle...man its an amazing site...I loved the parties too. It’s a safe place...so not what lonely planet says about it...
